It's over-the-top drama, it's insane comedy and they are amazing athletes- sure it's scripted action, but so is LOST, Die Hard movies etc...
Even if they know it's coming, a 250-lb guy leaping from a 15-foot high ladder is gonna feel the impact on landing
Besides, Gail Kim is HOT!! Give her more air time, and bring back Stacy Keibler :)

I watched it since the 70's and it's gotten boring, even with all the T&A, fireworks, gimmicks and terrible acting. It's something to watch as a novelty when your favorite show is cancelled or on a break.
Back then, it was considered as close to legal violence as you can imagine, because the fans used to attack the wrestlers at the Cow Palace during AWA/Big Time Wrestling shows, wrestlers got real in-ring injuries and punches were also real and not choreographed.
I even hung out with Hulk Hogan, Rick Rude, Iron Sheik and Hacksaw Duggan outside their hotel at the SF Airport once, and they told me they were all buddies and pals in the WWF. They shared meals on the road, heels and faces sent each other Christmas cards and everyone was one big family.
I know it's fake because the old employer I used to work for handled the wrongful death lawsuit of Owen Hart and a few other massive injury cases against the WWF. Testimony showed the wrestlers describing how the matches were rigged and that they worked from a script.
I just like it for the entertainment value because it's still corny but fun to watch.

Because, it's entertaining, sort of like a sitcom, everyone knows they are actors, but its still entertaining.
