Do you mean get over not being married anymore, or cant stop loving your ex.
unfortunately, these things happen to all of us, but you must go out, meet lots of other people, there are some pretty nice folks out there, most have had the knocks and bruises which life dishes up along the way, but whats new.why not become involved in some new hobby, and devote a lot of time to it, like, photography, enter competitions, but first study it at college, I did that once, and the first night i went in the ghost hunters classroom by mistake, and made a run for it when things became very eerie, should have been next door. However, good luck, remember the room number.

Do you mean the relationship lasted 20 years or it was over 20 years ago?

It can be hard to move on, but we CAN get stuck in a grieving phase - grieving for the lost relationship. If you are grieving after 20 years, you are stuck there for some reason, and I would advise you to seek counselling for yourself to help you shake off the past, it is not healthy for you, and it is hampering you in your quest for peace and happiness.

well 20 odd years is a long time hun....you need to get someone else...if you have someone else then focus on them instead of dwelling about the past....remember why this person became your ex in the first place....this is a long time to keep carrying this in your head...

Blind? You are unable to see the writing on the wall.
No sense of smell? Wake up and smell the coffee.
Dreamless? Failure to project yourself into the future.
Stupidity? Inability to get your brain around the fact you are flying solo.
Head in the sand? Spending your life in denial.

See a psychologist...you have unresolved life issues.

Your first love has the most imprint on you. And as you move on other loves just can't own up to it (unless, statistically small chance, you find someone so utterly wonderful that you forget about the first love).

It's just a brain function that's all. remember that and try not to leech on to it so much-it only keeps you from moving and trying new loves.

probably you haven't met anyone who can take your mind of your ex. You need to move on, and stop wasting your affection on a dead relationship. I have been there like many more people and I wouldn't swap my new partner, or dwell on the past too much.

Stop waiting for someone else to come along & make you happy dude. your future, including your thoughts are entirely up to you.

Why would you allow yourself to waste 20 years of your life on someone thats long gone?
This isn't a cut & retake you know. one chance mate & then thats it. just one chance, why waste it?

Most don't agree with me, but I do believe in true love. If you truly love someone, you can't let go easily. One love one life time in this people's live. Unfortunately your ex don't love you as deep as you do. We have to learn to move on, it is hard, but we have to force ourselves. If you failed, don't feel bad, at least you know you truly love someone in your life, better than people who never know what is love. Don't feel bad about your unique personality, you should proud of it.

Because you are seriously screwed up and need professional help. Or you are using it as an excuse for drinking and drugging.
