Travelling from Birmingham to London on 3rd August then back on the 4th August and staying in central london, however parking is too much in central london and train ticket is £57 return!

Can anyone suggest what i should do?
Maybe drive to a tube station outside congestion charge border then take tube to central - if so where is there a tube station with a secure but affordable car park.

THANKS!!

I would look at parking at Brent Cross shopping centre or any other such place that is open 24 hours.. There is a tube station on the northern line at Brent Cross, approximately 15 mins into central London.
Another way is to find a tube station on your way in and then scour the side roads without parking restrictions and park there.
If you arrive in the middle of the day you are more likely to find a parking space.

Hi there...Ur ticket is very expensive, i can assume ur travelling with vargin trains...i travel from Birmingham to London every other weekend...and i pay a ticket called just £15..u can return any time with it within a month....for this train..it leaves from Snow Hill or Moor Street station from Birmingham to London Marylbone....the train company is called Chiltern Railways...and u don't have to book the ticket in advance...u buy it on the day but there are certain times of the day u can travel with it....check it out...

I'd suggest Brent Cross as well. The shopping centre has 6500 free parking spaces - http://www.brentcross.co.uk/findus/findus_new.htm

It's actually closest to Hendon Central tube station - about 15 mins walk from what I remember (I used to live nearby), or you can get bus no 83.

The best part is that Brent Cross is only about a mile from the M1.

Get the train! They're every half an hour or more frequent and they will take you in to the centre of London. Tickets are from £15 return upwards

I used to park at Brookmans Park off the A1 not far from South Mimms services...but that was a while back, may charge now......about 1 hour or so from central London.
