at the time he told 'W' that is was a small private plane that had hit the tower ... Cheney was already in the bunker and 'NORAD'was already getting lost ! he lied to 'W' ....WHY ??? Was he so out of touch with the White House that he didn't have the whole story? any way you look at it ..it stinks !

I don't think you can lay that at Card's feet especially considering that Bush told the press that he saw the first plane hit the towers on TV while in the school corridor, prior to entering the classroom.
FYI: no news agency had footage of the first plane strike on that day. Interesting.

Who knows? This is all speculation.
I don't think Andy Card is a hero at all (and neither is Bush for that matter) but what does it matter if he told him something else in the classroom. The damage was already done and the wheels were already in motion to lessen the damage.. this is a republic we live in, not a monarchy. The world does not grind to a stop just because a President is delayed information.

I watched the whole thing on TV. The news thought it was a small plane at first. When you have height like the WTC it is hard to get perspective.
