Suresh Raina could be a India's future batting sensation or mainstay, but he cannot and never be compared with the little master, sachin comes from a different league of batsmen (like don,Viv,Gary sobers,Lara),though is batting may not be same as before,he was and will be the master blaster and noone can take is place

No. The IPL doesn't really define the greatness of a player and neither does an innings of 50 when you have been dropped twice before you reached 30. Raina also has a glaring weakness against good short pitched bowling and that has and will continue to be exploited easily by all top quality teams. Raina also has not been tested on better quality test pitches like the ones found in Australia, England and South Africa. Tendulkar has always had a good defense and no real glaring weaknesses. He came into the scene when some of the best attacks the world has ever seen were operating and managed to score against all of them. Raina has a long way to go before he can be considered to be in the same calibre.

He can never be Sachin Tendulkar because Sachin is Sachin but Raina can certainly be an outstanding player and can serve the team india in that capacity.

While Suresh Raina is a promising youngster, he will not be able to match Sachin Tendulkar under any yardstick.

While it is nice to see him referred to in the same sentence as Sachin, it is a wee bit too early to crown him. He has the potential but does that translate into big innings and runs and bigger performances? Only time will tell. Meanwhile, let us enjoy the not so ever-lasting presence of Sachin and see the blossoming of Raina (if it happens). There are other players in the Indian "farm" system who have shown potential like Uthappa but it still hasn't translated to much. In fact, Uthappa reminds me of a modern-day Srikanth (destructive but sadly self-destructive too!!)
