No one really knows. If you're a Christian, remember that Christ Himself said nobody knows the date or hour.

However, the Mayans calculated the end of the world to be coming in 2012. Interestingly, Nostradamus also predicted 2012. Even more interesting, the Bible Code scholars tell us 2012 is also predicted in a specific matrix.

But that's all coincidental, I think. If someone can 'look into the future' and see the end of time, then the future would have to exist now. Can't look into nothing, right?

It could be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now. When the superpowers square off against each other in two camps, then come back and we'll talk apacolpse.

Until then, just think regional conflicts, wars between rump states, proxy wars and brinksmanship. If you recall the Yom Kippur War in 1973, a coalition of Arab States (Egypt, Syria and Jordan) were soundly defeated by the Israelis. That was a worse situation than the current conflict and it didn't raise a blip on the world war radar (not that it didn't have the potential to spark a global war).

The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.

Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask when is the apacolypse, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.

Our biggest risk is an accidental launch of nukes by one of the nuclear powers.

No, seriously, I don't think the world is ending any time soon.

The world has passed at least 5 predicted end times in my lifetime.

Every generation thinks the world is ending during their lifetime. I think it's part of human ego. There would be an importance to being "the last generation".

I had a religious neighbor who thought the devil was going to swallow the world at midnight on Jan 1, 2000. I said, "Isn't it awfully egotistical to believe that the devil operates on Eastern Standard Time?" After all, most of the people in the world are in China. And most of the EVIL people in the world are in [insert your favorite enemy of America here-I choose France].

I think the world will limp along until it is destroyed by something *bigger* than mankind. Like an overgrown asteroid. Or a Death Star.

To have an END implies a BEGINNING. What does the term "world" mean to you? The earth is a part of the milky way galaxy. And that galaxy, along with countless others, is a part of a larger super galaxy, which along with others, is a part of an even larger super galaxy which, along with countless others...

Planets are established and destroyed all the "time". Ours is no more or less special and will meet its end when its "time" has come.

Don't believe anyone but listen to me carefully. The end of the world is the moment we die. The world doesn't exist for us anymore.

I am not sure what you mean by the end of the world. Life will always exist. The end of life as we know it is coming very soon, though. But nobody knows exactly when.

According to God and the Bible, no one knows.

36"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[a] but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man."--Matthew 24:36-37

The earth has been here for 4.5 billion years. Why oh why does EVERY single generation think that it is magically going to snuff it during THEIR lifetime?
