Pre-ordering CDs?

OK, i have no particular store or CD in mind when i ask this, but if a CD is not yet released but it is able to be pre-ordered, will i receive it on the day of its release or will it be posted on that day? For example, if i pre-ordered a CD that is due to be released on Monday, would i receive it on Monday or "3-5 working days" after? Thankyou and i hope that made some sense! x

If you pre order at a physical store then I would think you would be able to pick it up on the day of it's release. If you mail ordered then it would be mailed out on the day of release and it would depend on the post office delivery as to when you would get it.
