ALL TV is a load of boring, mind-numbing rubbish, designed to take our minds off reality. As I say, the only real thing about reality TV is that some people reckon it actually happened. people thought War of the Worlds actually happened- maybe some still do.
Reality TV is not reality. Under which circumstance, may I ask, in real, everyday life do 8 people find themselves in a jungle with ridiculous tasks to perform? When would 8 people with personality problems get shoved in a house together and evicted one by one?
The reason we have reality TV is so that we think that TV is reality, thus making us ignore the reality around. The REALITY is that TV tries to be more exciting than real life.
And it's having an impact on our children. I walk up to kids I know and friends' kids and ask them want they want to do when they grow up. They all want to be famous, mainly because TV shows people getting famous without work.
Reality TV: Just another reason to kill your televison.

I think and have thought, always since it's inception that "Reality T.V." really isn't all that real. Its basically scripted and written like any other TV series. The people are "cast" to play certain roles. Rifts between participants are amplified and manipulated to be more dramatic. Examples are, and I'm sorry to offend, Survivor, Big Brother and others.

I don't care much for Survivor anymore, and Big Brother should be a lot more like "The Real World," where the housemates spend two weeks with each other and get to do daily activities. I still like "The Amazing Race," full of adventure, great places to visit and really interesting teams of two. So it's not all that bad.

For the most part it is utter crap. I do watch some of the reality shows on Discovery and TLC like Deadliest Catch, Big People Little World, and Miami Ink. They are much better than the ones on the big 3 networks or MTV.

i comprehend what a bloody waste of air time those programmes have become, in actuality its a similar show with a diverse identify, we could detect a "joseph" "maria" "grease" musical wannabe and how come each and all of the BBC actuality exhibits are presented with the help of Graham Norton have they run out of television presenters? the ingredient with those programmes are they are much less costly to produce and in many situations have a telephone line to ring which would be interior the sunday tabloids a week later asserting that they took your funds while the strains have been closed returned and yet people nonetheless ring the bloody cons. each and all of the stable sequence and dramas the BBC and ITV have produced we at the instant are decreased to this rubbish.

Most reality tv is pretty much pointless. Of course, I don't watch that much tv, so when I do watch tv, it either has to be a show I care about, and one I don't like much one way or the other

I don't mind American idol, occasionally you get some good singers and at least you're watching people DO something. The likes of Big Brother where 'contestants' (exhibits?) are chosen purely for their lack of intellect, vanity or vulgarity, yes I would whole-heartedly agree there.
