Alright. To solve these, remove your parenthases (This is all addition/subraction. No need for them.)

1)
(5b²+3b)+(b²-2b)
5b²+3b+b²-2b

Now combine like terms.
5b²+b²+3b-2b
1)6b²+b

Same for all of the others :)

2)
(8c²-2c)+(2c²+3c)
8c²-2c+2c²+3c
8c²+2c²-2c+3c
10c²+c

3)
(b³+2b²+3b)+(4b³-5b²+4b)
b³+2b²+3b+4b³-5b²+4b
b³+4b³+2b²-5b²+3b+4b
5b³-3b²+7b

Ok you can only add or subtract like polynomials.

For instance

(5b2 + 3b) + (b2 - 2b) = (5b2 + b2) + (3b - 2b)

equals 6b2 + b

that should help and you can continue with the rest.

you combine common terms. think of it this way. example 1 - you have 5 apples (think of b2 as an apple) and 3 oranges (think of b as an orange). your friend has 1 apple and owes someone else 2 oranges. if you combine your fruit and he pays what he owes what do you have left? 6b2 (6 apples) + b (1 orange). If that example made sense to you then you should be able to add the 2nd and 3rd problems.

2. the answer is 10c2-c
3. the answer is 5b3 - 3b2+ 7b

just to correct Pug&Sug answer (I may be wrong) but I believe the answer for #2 should be:

8c2+2c2=10c2 however (-2c)+(3c)= c and not -c so the answer I think is 10c2+c and not 10c2-c but double check that.
