Hi! I'm almost 17 weeks with baby#1. I go for my ultrasound in 2 weeks, hopefully they can tell us the gender! I always thought that my first baby would be a boy as i thought they would be so much easier to deal with, (no periods, no getting pregnant, no boys to the house), you know where i'm going with this. This is not my first pregnancy as i lost my last one, but my fiancee wants a girl really bad. I don't care either way as long as the baby's healthy, but now i'm leaning towards really wanting it to be a girl for his sake and for everyone else wanting it to be a girl. I'm starting to get in the mood for having a little girl now. Do you think i'll be extremely disappointed if we get to the ultrasound and they say it's a boy?

No way. Once you see your baby it won't matter if its a boy or a girl. Just hope your baby is healthy!!! When I was pregnant with my first, i thought it would be easier to have a boy, and i had a girl. It was great getting her all dressed up and bows in her hair. with my second i wanted another girl because i knew what to expect. i had a boy. He is so wonderful. Although potty training is more difficult, i am blessed with a girl and a boy. So, NO, you won't be dissappointed.

Nope you will not be extremely disappointed. My hubby and I just "knew" ours was a girl, bought girl clothes, picked girl names. Only have boys in the family so everyone wanted us to have a girl. Well we went to the ultrasound and it was a boy. I even had another one just to be sure. I can say I was shocked! But now when I look back I cannot even think of having a girl. It is so weird, i wanted a girl so bad and now I am so happy I am having a happy, healthy boy. You will be the same way. Even if you are a little disappointed it will only last a couple of days. And you will be so amazed at seeing your baby for the first time you won't even care. I wish you all the best with the rest of your pregnancy and I hope your baby cooperates so you can find out what it is!!!

My first one was a boy and I always wanted a girl. I wasn't dissapointed just as long as I know my baby will be healthy thats all that matters. Now with my 2nd one I was still hoping for a girl but 4 weeks ago we found out it was a boy. I was hoping that the DR was wrong but it was so clear that it was a BOY. I was kinda dissapointed and happy at the same time. But I got over it in a second. The more I hope for a girl, the less chance I'll get at having a girl. So whatever god bless me with I'll be thankful. Just give me a healthy child.

Well my bf really wanted a girl so did his sister because she has a daughter... and i already have a son ... well to put this easier... his niece is the only girl outta the grandchildren the rest are all boys.. so they really wanted it to be a girl...and i kinda did aswell so i wouldnt have to have ne more kids..
well when she said it looks like a boy i was kinda sad but then i was really excited.... and happy...
well im now 27 weeks and im going for a 3d ultrasound next wednesday and well his sister and mother are coming along and they keep saying its a girl i can tell... "even after i been to the ultrasound and they said boy"...
so im kinda under alot of pressure to have a girl.. lol..
but as long as your baby is healthy and happy.. it dont matter you will be happy too..!!

No, especially since this is the first. You will be just thrilled to see your baby for the first time and just wait till you hear the heart beat. It can make you smile and cry with joy. Don't despair, what ever the baby is , when you and your fiancee hold it for the first time , the baby's sex will be perfect. I had three boys and had always hoped for a girl. On my third child's ultrasound, I was hopeful for the girl and maybe a touch bummed but when I heard the heart beat, i was just happy he was there and the first time I held him, I knew he was just as perfect as the other two. Good luck with baby and the marriage!!!

I was so wrapped up in making sure that my little bundle was healthy through the ultrasound, that by the time they told me I was having a boy, it was great news, but not the most important news. Plus, if you find out at 17 weeks, you will have plenty of time to get used to the idea. You'll love having a son or a daughter (I have one of each) for different reasons and so will your fiance.

well... you never know. even after the ultrasound you may not know. my friend's baby had her legs crossed so they couldnt tell >_< and then my other friend's baby was supposedly a girl until HE was born and they otherwise.
i think you might be disappointed at first... but it's a BABY! <3 if i have my baby turns out to be a girl, i'll be missing a little boy for maybe a second and then be just ecstatic about having healthy happy baby. ^_^
good luck!

I wanted a little girl and my husband wanted a little boy. Well, at the ultrasound I was shocked when they told me it was a boy. But, as soon as we left I was already picking out boy names and thinking about buying blue onsies. I think if you really want a girl and you're having a boy you might be a little disappointed, but you will get over it when you think about the beautiful little boy you are having.

You may filled overwhelmed... But just remember it is your baby i wanted a girl, But i had a boy, I love him just as much... he is one of the best things that has happened to me... Just think if it is a boy he can carry on the family name... And make his daddy proud of his last name...
