Certainly I still do open the birthday cards in hopes that there might be some money every single year for me.

Of course for more than 50 + years, I am hoping to see some money in a birthday card. Everyone loves money. Don't you love money?

I'm only 13-going-on 14, but i think people from every walk of life hopes they'll get money in a birthday card. Most will say things like "it s the thought ha counts" or whatever.

No. Not at all. If it's a pre-printed card, I pretend to read it, but only skim what I'm looking at. If it's got a note or letter hand-written inside, I actually take the time to read it. After that, I think of money, but money is always welcome.

No. The last time my boyfriend gave me a birthday card there was money in it. I actually cried! It really hurt me, and I wouldn't take it.

I like the cards for the sentiment, as long as it's genuine.

My kids however, look forward to that check.

LOL.

I still open them slowly, but that's because I open gifts slowly anyway. I am way past the point of expecting/hoping that hard cash is contained within. I'm just very appreciative of the thought.

yes, but I read it all hoping to convince everyone that I'm more interested in what the card says than what's inside.

And I try to convince myself there's nothing in it so that when I open it and there's nothing inside I don't look completely disappointed.
