the correct answer is ( b - 7 ) ( b + 1 )

it can be done this way:
b^2 - 6b -7
= b^2 - 7b + b -7
= b(b-7)+1(b-7)
= (b+1)(b-7)

thats it.

that's a binomial, not a trinomial.
