First challenge jury members by asking questions such as if they have ever met or know of him, if yes ask them what they know of him and their personal opinion of him. Odds are that not a single juror will survive this test. Ask for a dismissal of all charges since a fair and impartial jury cannot be chosen (and a change of venue is not option). Failing that challenge the authority of the court to even bring him to trial. Next would be that, it's a great conspiracy by the US, England and Russia to cover up war crimes that they committed and that much of the evidence is fraud. Claim that no direct proof links him to what other party members did and that certain party members committed atrocities merely to discredit him. Claim that the only killings that he was aware where those of rioters, looters, and subversives carrying out acts of violence and crimes against Germany and her citizens. Challenge witnesses by asking if they were present when such and such took place and if Hitler was there(if he wasn't then how do they know he ordered such things or was even aware of what was happening). Challenge them by asking if they saw him sign certain documents (Again same defense). Try to reduce as much evidence as possible to hearsay. If all else fails plead him insane. Based on the crazed behavior in Germany under his leadership that should not be hard to sell. Bring up his studies in art and his paintings. Try to sell him as an artist not a murderer. Have Eva Braun testify to his sweet, gentle, kind loving personality. She can claim she never heard him give any orders to persecute and exterminate whole races of people. Break out the photos of him with children. Paint him as kind and benevolent. All that said, I doubt that there is anything you can say or do in his defense that will ever prove his innocence to a jury. Best of luck in your mock trial - you have an uphill battle to fight - but then again so did O.J.'s lawyers.

There is no known document in which Hitler ordered the Holocaust, though it is pretty clear that he gave verbal instructions or at least had knowledge of what was happening.
Maltreatment of Soviet POW's was not technically a war crime since the USSR was not a signitor to the Geneva convention.
For the Crimes Against Humanity charges, such as waging aggressive war, there is essentially no defense other than to argue that the Nazis operated under a different ethic which made it permissible for stronger nations to dominate weaker ones.

this may well be a hassle-free criminal catch 22 undertaking. The protection lawyer is there to guarantee the accused gets a ordinary path and the load of evidence is squarely on the prosecution. If, for some reason, the prosecution does not run the direction quite, or produce evidence in a criminal way, a responsible guy or woman could flow loose, valuable. yet, their rights have been defended. Do i individually AGREE, no, even if it extremely is a device that tries to guarantee in basic terms the responsible are convicted. the blunders for convicting an harmless guy or woman is larger than letting a responsible guy or woman flow loose.

Not guilty by reason of insanity.....let him go to the insane asylum with the real crazies and they will eat him for breakfast.
I nice fairy tale ending for very sick man.
Hitler was not a victim of philosophy of his times...nor of a maligned psychosis....read his book Mien Kampf...I have...he knew what he wasa doing and what he was saying....and the intellectuals of his time agreed and elected him based on the writings in that book. You figure it out.
As his attorney I would tell him to plead guilty and throw himself to the mercy of a quick death.

Try the insanity defense - not guilty by reason of insanity. He did not know right from wrong, had no conscience, was a meglomaniac, egomaniac... just prove him insane. Shouldn't be too hard to do...

You would ask the prosecution for direct evidence that he was involved in any of the crimes he was charged with.
Do some research on how Saddam Hussein's defense team tried to defend him, it may give you some tips.

you can take that hard core middle eastern view and say Hitler and the holocaust never happened. some of those crazy camel jockeys think that all of that stuff was made up by the Jews so people will feel sorry for them.....you could probably search something like Holocaust hoax and camel jockeys and get some stuff

Since much of the language was "emplied" it could be kind of easy in regards to the final solution. Do a search on "The Wannsee Conference". In regards to Russia, they have Hitler dead to rights. He and Stalin had an agreement, and Hitler broke it by invading Russia.
