It seems like McAfee or Microsoft are always downloading something, or somebody is. It sure keeps my computer busy sometimes. When I look at my windows task manager, I see that there are as many as 48 processes going on. I have no idea what most of them are. The more I use the comp. the slower it gets, and the longer it takes to get the darn thing started up. I defrag often, I clean out temp files etc, I use software, such as CCleaner, and Startup Inspector to help(supposedly) clean things up and get things working faster, but none of it seems to help much. I gotta do something with this thing.

Sounds like you might have a problem with spyware. Try downloading spybot if this is your problem that should fix it. Also in Ccleaner, click on Issues - scan for issues- then click fix issues.
