First - learn EVERYTHING you can about music. Join the school band and choir. Practice every lesson, and become the best musician in your school. Try out for the school play, and take any part that's offered, even if it's only a walk-on or the chorus. Take private lessons if your school offers them. If not, and you or your parents can do it, take private lessons even if the school doesn't offer them.

Look around for community theater programs that you can join. Volunteer to do anything - print tickets, hand out flyers, paint sets. Get yourself known as someone who will get the job done, and done well with enthusiasm.

The point of all of this is to become a person who is knowledgable about music in general, not just one narror genre, and to get experience performing in a variety of settings, not just as a rapper. If you talk to any famous musician, I guarantee that they will tell you that overnight success came only after 10-15-20 years of hard work, of dedication, of playing gigs in bars with 3 people there, and not getting paid, and getting poor reviews at first, and hauling their own gear in and out because they didn't have roadies.

Along the way, be sure you study hard for your other classes. If all you know is music, but you ignore math, language arts, business, science, etc, you'll be a one-trick pony that will get cheated because you don't know how to compute how much your agent's cut is, or how to read a contract, or how to judge whether a crowd is interested in your rapping or your other music.

Good luck!

Make some CDs and hand them out for free in a place where alot of people go, also put it out on my space and youtube, with that your music will began to circulate. Also go to your local radio station and try to get in with the producer and pick his brain on what you should do to get started. One more thing, go to your favorite rappers web site and send an email to their people asking them about getting into the business.

MySpace music is a good option or even try YouTube by placing the song on there and just place album art for the video. One picture is all you need.
