yes i need to change boot order but theres no return to default setting only want to get rid of all the crap on this laptop i bought second hand guy said make sure its set to load from cd dvd player i aint got a clue thanks for your help

oh you want to change to make the computer boot from a cd right is that what you are saying if so.
Depending upon your laptop and the company that built it you will have to enter into the bios which is usually either the F2 or F12 button on most computer then you will need to change the boot order in there that is the easiest way to explain it. If you could tell me what exactly you are trying to do it would help give me a better picture.

You need to get into your laptops bios, when your system is booting up press either delete key or one of the f keys (f8 is a favourite) this will take you into your systems bios, once you are in your bios there is an option for boot up sequence, you can choose either hard drive, CD, floppy etc, select your CD option, make sure that you have your disc in your CD drive and from their you should be able to install windows, as i presume that is what you are going to do

You change the boot order in the bios setup. Usually it is the delete key or f12 key that is pressed during the boot to get there.

That is in your BIOS. Enter it (it's different on each computer) and it should be listed under Boot Order. Just look around, but don't change anything if you don't know what it does.

Since no one tells you HOW to get into BIOS....
Start the machine and press Del, F2 or F12 before you see any Windows screens.
Machines do differ on how to access the BIOS.

Just go into your bios, find the current boot order and cycle down to what you want and where. It's fairly simple to do.
