i can't stomach her....nor can i believe the amount of people who apparently listen to her half-assed rhetoric. i won't say that i don't agree with her at the very core of some issues, but she always takes it TOO far and has the uncanny ability to oversimplify everything she sees.
i don't honestly know where i sit on the war issue, i think it's too big for me to be totally certain about, but don't you think that her BLIND certainty has the ability to do more harm than good; especially considering how much [absurd] pull the american movie/TV star seems to have on political issues?
wouldn't it be better if the movie stars stopped using their celebrity status as political support tools? the majority of them haven't even finished college; they're just pretty.

For eons celebrities have fought and promoted causes. It goes with the territory. Depends on what the individual tunes in or tunes out. I believe in someone with strong convictions like Rosie. I don't really agree but I sift thru the info I want to hear.
I'm sad for the entire cast of the View. She may not be back.
Geraldo on Mike & Juliet this morning implied that today. He leaked a story about one of her staff members as well. Emotions are weight too high. NO job is worth that. And the producers/director exploited them Wednesday which really PO me big time.
These folks are no experts. They are paid to express their views. AND they have. Other celebrities are also paid handsomely and use their status towards alot of causes they believe in and that's Free Speach. Thank you.

No, she's not a reliable source of information. Some people dedicate their whole lives to studying a particular subject. They take twenty or thirty years to become experts in their field. And then Rosie O'Donnell comes along with no formal education that I'm aware of and has decided that she's got it all figured out. It's not that she isn't entitled to her opinion, but we shouldn't be listening to her as though her views on politics and foreign policy should be taken seriously. If we do listen to her, we need to conduct our own research and look toward some of the experts who have vast amounts of experience.

In America, the land of the free, everyone has the right to voice their opinion. And because of their popularity status, people like O'Donnell and others have accessibility to the masses.
What I think is more realistic is to appeal to the masses...encouraging them to understand that their hollywood idols are not politicians...they are not elected by the people, and their opinions are just that - opinions.
Sadly, in America, hollywood is glorified, and those who are part of the movie star set are admired without question. It is the American people who should be held accountable...not those who are using their freedom of speech. Speech is only valuable if someone is listening...so encourage that people stop listening...rather than suggesting that the rights and freedoms of some are witheld...

Funny thing is you never ever see a liberal on here talking about what great things Rosie or any celebrity has said. However you do hear spewing about what they said from Conservatives constantly. Which makes you wonder who really is listening to these celebrities? I know I am not, that is for sure. I know what I think and how I think, I don't need some fat comedian to help me along with my views.

The thing is...
1. She has a right to say what she wants, in any forum that will allow her to use it, no matter how ridiculous what she says is.
2. The American people, as a whole (ALL PARTIES) need to start learning to separate someone's expressed OPINION from facts - as well as learn to separate real life from entertainment.
3. Rosie O'Donnell is not a politician and has no governmental authority whatsoever.
4. There are many people who are completely convinced in their opinions of this war. I am completely convinced that it was a bad idea from the start and that we should have gone after bin Laden instead of wasting time in Iraq. I feel that very strongly. This war is really badly managed. That is my opinion. There are other completely respectable people who feel otherwise, and I respect their right to their opinion - and to express it, regardless of the forum.
5. It is the responsibility of the American people to realize that Rosie O'Donnell is a fruit loop. And most of them do. It is only because she allies herself with the Democrat party that the right wing extremists love to talk about what she says. I'm a Democrat, and I've never heard her opinion from HER. I keep hearing it on this site. That's the sum total of my knowledge of what she says.
6. I don't know one rational person - Republican OR Democrat - who identifies with her or her ranting.
Stop giving her more power than she deserves.

I am just glad I live in a country that values free speech and that we have an Amendment that protects our right to discuss what we want to. Whether someone agrees with Rosie's views or not, I think the best thing about debate is that it brings issues to the front.

I certainly don't. The answer to the question should be not no, but, HELL NO!
The closest I come to listening to any celebrities is Dennis Miller and Dennis Leary. Not because they are telling me what is right but because they point out the absurdity of the stances of public officials.
Also they are comics and they make you laugh while they are doing it. If it wasn't for the laughter we'd all be terrorists! Now those guys have no sense of humor.

No and No about Rosie O'Donnell.
Though celebrities have the freedom to speak for or against any issue they want, they have the advantage over the average American because they have the media outlets to voice their opinions.

i agree completely. Rosie is just like every other Hollywood, Music-Industry, type... too much pull for someone who knows nothing substantial of what they're talking about. to me, it's as if the typical CNN watchn-couch-prez-non-voters were to be in the position that these people are in. they are one in the same except that one is able to get on tv and spout unfounded rhetoric instead of on Yahoo! answers.
