with the company for a longer peroid of time than me. I have a lot of education, but I am very young. Obviously, I have proved myself time and time again at this company. Do have any tips that will make me feel more confident when addressing employee problems and getting the employees to follow my rules. Any suggestions on how to be a good supervisor would be helpful. Thank you...

Just be fair and treat everyone equally. You will have some resistance from the people who are older or have been there longer, but you have earned your promotion, and the only ones that have to be pleased with your work is your bosses and your customers.

You will have to realize that their actions now effect your performance... being a supervisor is not a buddy-buddy thing... you need to be confident because the company obviously believes you are the person for the job and now you have to just do it. You may want to start with having weekly meetings to learn what everyone is doing and to make sure that you understand all the functions that they hold.

Congratulations, remember you're the boss now. Don't forget all the hard work that got you there. If you are not confident do your best not to let that show. You need to be strong from the start. Enforce company rules from the get go and you will be a success. Good luck!

You were promoted for what you have been doing and you should continue with it. Nurture always a good working environment but it doesnt mean that you have to be friends with your colleagues. You could but you must remember that they have to respect you all the time.

Just keep doing what you have been doing. Obviously the one who promoted you sees great potential in you that he/she hasn't seen in the other employees. Keep up the great work and Congrats!
