What do they do?

Somewhat important, not all that important. The Doc is going to stick his/her finger in you to make sure your uterus is "closing" as it should. You'll be able to tell her/him what type of birth control you prefer if any and he/she will right you a prescription for it. I've done the follow-up twice and one time I didn't and was still perfectly fine. Don't believe the spill about them checking your mental health, in a perfect and sensitive world maybe, but in reality, NADA. Abortion surgeons could give a rat's behind about your "emotional health" they just want to cover their behinds and make sure the procedure was done correctly and your healing fine.

they take a last ultrasound to make sure the abortion took and that there is no remaining tissue in there that would lead to a major infection..
plus they'll discuss options for birth control, so it's very very important.

go.

Same as after I miscarried. They want to be sure that there is nothing left behind to cause infection/infertility, make sure the uterus is closing, and make sure you are OK mentally & emotionally.

Yes it is. It is needed not only to make sure that there is no tissue left in the uterus, but to make sure that you are healing properly.

Yes it's important.

They'll just be making sure nothing untoward has happened, there's no lasting damage and you are recovering well.

If your going to have an abortion it's only one appt it's not like your going to one every month to make sure that your baby is ok. I mean you just killed a child because of your stupidity. If you don't want a baby don't have sex. It's not that hard unless your a slut.
