The willpower to motivate self always comes from within. It comes from taking control of the five senses and the mind. That itself is not a simple task. God Almighty ordained a life span of 12.1 million earthly years to gain control of life in totality and reach the last leg of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation! In the circumstances... why would one hurry the journey of life?
If we desire reaching the stage of Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed... we need to transcend all barriers of physical manifested life by taking control of the five senses and the mind. This is possible when we curtail our wanton desires and greed for materialistic reaches.
Slowly and patiently... we start manifesting our destiny. Following the path of truthfulness is the foremost requirement to establish control over willpower. It is only then one hears the sweet small inner voice of our soul atman coming from within our heart. It is the power of our soul... the atman within that is termed as willpower. If our actions in the physical manifested life conform to the requirements of our soul atman within... we have the highest possible form of willpower.
In the physical manifested life for developing willpower and establishing control over life... we need to have a goal in life. In the absence of a firm goal... a burning desire... Nothing much can be achieved in life! Having established a burning desire... we need to pursue it with full patience, persistence and perseverance in our stock. Slowly we transcend physical manifested life by establishing control over our willpower.
Highly successful people in life like Bill Gates and Madame Curie (who discovered radium) always had more than needed willpower backing them all the time. The source of this willpower is a burning desire to achieve the same within the present manifestation. When we put all our eggs in one basket... there is nothing that can stop us from conquering the world. More on willpower and life - http://www.godrealized.org/truce_with_my_inner_self.html

Well, you're not gonna get the will power back into your life unless you truly want it there. The fact is, people can offer you all the solutions they want to your problems, but only you can make a difference. The best way for me to get motivated is by focusing on the fact that other people are better than me at something. I know that sounds weird but it actually works. Since I know there's someone else there who is always gonna be better than me, I work hard to get better than that person. This is always proven to work because even when you don't become better than that person, you know that you improved anyways. But again, none of my advice works if you don't give yourself that will power. Your brain may be saying you can't do it, but you just have to tell your brain, "No" back.

Many different things can motivate someone...sometimes it's a negative emotion or "motive" like fear, lust, jealousy or greed and for others it's passion, conviction, inspiration.
It's really an individual quest, for your passion in life.
Finding that "passion" is sometimes a challenge - but if you don't look for it , it will not come knocking on your door.
So Explore the possibility's and step outside of your "comfort zone" a bit.
Just getting the ball rolling in a "direction" any direction... will wake -up your dreams.
"A journey of 1000 miles begins with the first step"
Maybe just focus on enjoying this moment and let the future reveal it's self

Like anything, will power is the result of good habits. Make goals for yourself and achievement, small and easily had at first and increasingly difficult as you get in the habit of achieving what you set out to do.

The first step is the hardest one. After that we got momentum on our side. Doesn’t even really need a reason then.
slave to desire
look for passion
