We are thinking of naming our son Morris (his grandmother's maiden's name). What do you think of it - it's uncommon so I like it. Anyway, I would like suggestions on middle names as well. Can you help?

I really like that name, but I'm biased because my dad's first name was Morris and my older brother was named after him. My dad's middle name was William, and I like how those sound together - Morris William. My brother's middle name is Basil, don't know where that came from, but I wouldn't go with that.
(We're Ukrainian, so Morris is actually "Myroslav".)

Morris is a great name. From the Roman name Mauricius, which derives from MAURUS. Saint Maurice was a Christian Roman soldier from Egypt. He and the other Christians in his legion were supposedly massacred by emperor Maximian for refusing to worship Roman gods. Thus, he is the patron saint of infantry soldiers. Also, Maurice of Nassau, the prince of Orange, was a military commander from the Netherlands who helped establish the Dutch Republic.

You could try Morris Anthony, Morris Grey, Morris Stewart or Morris Kian.

Oh and my Brother's name is Morris so that must be why I like it so much as for the above comments. It is not true, When I was at school there was the occasional tease but that happened with my name too and 'James' is an every day name.

I have never heard of Morris the cat but I have a friend named Felix (have you heard of Felix the cat?) and his nickname is "The Cat". I have heard of Morris the Moose though.

How about Morris Keaghan, Morris Zane, Morris Nathanial
or Morris Huckleberry (just joking but I do know a baby with that as the middle name, can you imagine!?)

....Oh, now I remember Morris the cat ...from those cat food commercials.

Hard to match Morris with a middle name. It's a nice name, I guess, I just wouldn't use it for MY children.
