Male celebrities don't need the ego boost of having a beautiful young wife like the rest of us do. They can enjoy finding a woman who they truly feel compatible. Of course they probably won't be with them long - but that is the same if they were to hook up with a young hotie.

I think it's probably the same as in real life, though celebrities have advantages like plastic surgery that make them look younger so the age gap can be increased.
I look really young, so younger guys are attracted to me. So I end up meeting a lot of younger guys to start out with, which increases the changes of a relationship like that happening. Younger guys tend to have more energy, so if you are an energetic person and like to go out and do a lot of fun things, then that is an advantage. Many men my age (mid 30's) are married already, have kids, out of shape, etc. That's not as much the case with younger men. I have problems sometimes finding things in common with younger men, but if both people are celebrities then that's not such a problem. The mainstay of their lives are probably pretty similar.
From the other standpoint, younger men that I've dated have LOVED the fact that I look their age yet I am not as insecure/indecisive/immature as girls their own age. I am not saying all younger girls are like that, but it's a phase most go through. I know I did, when I was that age. And, at that age you just don't have as much life experience to make certain decisions quickly.
Also, I think guys base a lot more on looks than anything else, that's where the celebrity's plastic surgery could help. In the times I've gone out with men a lot younger than me, it's usually the women that have problems with it. The last younger guy I dated, his sister and mother didn't care for it, but his dad didn't have a problem and it was cool. One of my male friends commented that one of a guy's first questions to another guy in their 20s that is dating someone new is, "So is she hot?" if the answer is "yes" then that negates a lot of other concerns.
I have met men that are turned off by the age when they find out though, so that's not always true.
My mom married someone 11 years younger than her... but she said she thought it was a mistake in the end (they were divorced about ten years ago, that's a WHOLE 'nother story...)

Im not sure about this new trend lol. I guess its similar to why older men date younger women - for their looks and youth. Also for a feeling of superiority and dominance. I dont understand what the men see in the women though - other than possibly money because why would a young good looking guy want a sagging wrinkly woman when there are such hot 20 somethings?

Let me answer your question with a question...
Why not? Men have been dating women decades younger forever- it's about time the ladies got some play

Yet you say nothing of the fact that a lot of really old male actors have married women who are young enough to be their daughters. I guess it's because they can, and good on them for doing so!

Speaking as an almost 45 year old, who is married to a just turned 25 year old:
He's a warm, sweet, wonderful man. His heart has never been broken, walked on, and misused. His love is pure & simple, and his energy is boundless...as is mine.

Because they are hot. Just kidding. I guess that they want to. Men do it all the time. Ashton and Demi seem very happy.

Well first off..they can since they dont look their age.
Younger men are easier to manipulate and "train"
The two are at their sexual peaks so its great sex.
And i guess its just the trend now..i mean the men always did it.. now its our turn.

Sometimes it's for love; mostly, it's opportunism and mutual need-meeting.
