I would say that I am constantly seeking innovative solutions to difficult questions. I am open to controlled experimentation and, although the ideas may not be my own, I seek out ideas that are not generally known or are suggested by others and give credit were credit is due. Sometimes my experimentation leads to ideas of my own. Although not everyone shares these ideas at first, they come around if the ideas meet with success. People have commented in the past that I have been inventive and insightful and I am a catalyst that causes others to explore new ideas rather than remain stagnant.
That is how I would answer, or something similar.
