Depends what you need from a team standpoint.
I liken Oden to David Robinson and Durant to Kevin Garnett.

Definitely Oden, championship teams need to build around a dominant center. Oden will be a beast at controlling the boards and patrolling the inside altering many shots. Once he polishes his offensive game he will be unstoppable. Remember he was playing with 1 hand at Ohio State.
Durant, though he is phenomenal can not control the game as much as a center like Oden can, look at Tracy McGrady superior talent but no rings to show for it.

I think Oden does, If he can develop his offensive game he can be a dominate force on BOTH ends of the court. Franchise Big Men only come around every so often. Durant on the other hand is going to be a great player...I would compare him to Tracy McGrady, or any other talented wing good future but not as bright as Oden's

That's not a fair question Oden. A 7 foot center is more valuble than a foward. Just ask the stupid lakers and the minnesota T Wolves or Dallas Mavs who invested a lot in their forwards and still can't win the big game, and the lakers let the most dominant center go and they got bounced out of the playoffs in the first round yet again.

It regarded surprising on the time for the main area to draft Oden. there have been some communities who raised some crimson flags on the subject of potential well-being concerns with Oden (as an occasion, it became referred to with the help of countless diverse team medical doctors before the draft that his legs have been of unequal length and that ought to have ultimately contributed to his knee wanting microfracture surgical operation etc.,) yet for the main area he became the main accepted #a million p.c.. on the time. Portland additionally already had Roy and Aldridge so they have been set for wing gamers. Durant could have had to compete with those adult men for minutes. The Blazers did no longer have a center - Oden could have stepped precise in and in all risk could have been a reliable low submit defender and rebounder on suitable of being a great low submit risk offensively. could he have scored 30ppg like Durant? No. could Durant score 30ppg taking part in in conjunction with a wholesome Brandon Roy and Lamarcus Aldridge? IDK.

Oden has slightly more upside simply becuase Durant is more complete already. HE can build more strength, but other than that his game is pretty much developed.

Oden. he's a player you can build a franchise around and compete for a championship.
Durant is a guy you can add to a team to compete.
