Its your dress, if you love it keep it, you paid for it and you wore it and you can do whatever you want to do with it! Dont think since your getting a divorce the dress has to go with it... Keep it and wear it on weekends when your drinking wine and dancing around your house! :D

My Mom took her rather unusual and very stylish dress out of the closet and jumped up and down on it when she separated from my Dad. She even cursed the dress, then threw it out. Mine had been handmade by a friend (who my mother and I had each independently paid), had a major flaw in the seamline at the butt (a big pucker), had satin stripes on the skirt and sleeves (I had wanted a simple eyelet frock that I could hem and wear--no satin) and one day I put it in the trash bag with the rest of the trash and tossed it. I tossed it because it was unwearable and we had only two little tiny closets. I informed the hubby that I was doing this, and not to worry. If it had not been so flawed and irritating to wear, I would have donated it to the Salvation Army, which is where I had started looking for what was supposed to be a favorite dress. They had a few beautiful ones, just not my size.

no. it's your dress. If it were any other dress you wouldn't have to get rid of it.
Keep it until you no longer need it & don't worry about what other people say. A wedding dress is something special. Hang on to yours if you want to.

At one time it ment something to you. It reminded you of a joyous day.
I wouldn't say your selfish, i would say your trying to hold on to every good memory prior to the divorce. Your trying to recapture what has been lost but not selfish

Absolutely not. I don't know the details of your divorce, but that dress is NICE, and it's rightfully YOURS. So keep it and remember the DAY, not the GUY.
It's just a matter of common sense.

I wouldn't see it as being selfish. It was still an important time in your life.

i don't think that's selfish.
it's like, a memento of a chapter in your life that's being closed.
kind of like a high school yearbook.

Selfish? I think not..... it is your dress. Do with it as you please, and if that means keeping it....... go for it.
