It sounds like 2 different phenomena, firstly the images that you can also see, and secondly the night time disturbances, where she hears her name shouted.
I guess the first phenomenon is something that is provable - hence, you can also make out the figures etc. I assume others could to, although I am aware that our perception can be led by others, so we can perceive what others influence to perceive. Overall, this seems rational.
The second issue, where she is geting disturbed when alone, suggests something different. During the night our minds enter and move through differing conscious and unconscious states. She may have been dreaming and became semi-awake after a disturbing dream etc. Repetitive dreams are not uncommon, as you may also have found. It's feasible for her to sense that she is awake, when she is partly still in a dream state, hence hearing the, perhaps, hallucinatory name shouting.
Otherwise, maybe your friend is going through a hard time, and this comes to the fore when she is most alone, it might also relate to past events or distress, as our minds process experience in an effort to learn and understand things. Maybe something is disturbing, deep inside, and this is her minds way of handling some of it, as troubling as it is for her.
I'm not sure about psychic or spritual influences, although I tend to be more sceptical about this for her. It's perhaps significant that this only happens when she is alone. I believe that I have experienced several things that seem to have been psychic in my life, so I don't discount this fully.
If she was with others and experienced the same things, but the rest didn't, it would suggest some psychological disturbance, or the semi-dream state that I mentioned earlier.
What can she/you do to help her? I'd suggest that she speaks to her GP and/or psychotherapist and get some further assessment made of her psychological well-being. There probably doesn't need to be any reference to the pictures around the rooms, as these are tangible things that others are observing.
The fundamental issue is of her having night-time disturbances, that are affecting her well-being (I assume that she's not so happy about it). If this isn't an issue, then she can just continue on. Otherwise, prescription medication can cause such side effects, so this may be connected.
It may also be a good idea for her to have someone nearby that could comfort her, when she gets distressed at night. This would be helpful for some, although not all people.
Good luck to you both! Rob

She may have naturally developed her psychic awareness. I used to get woken up by voices at night too. However, I've never seen or taken any photo's of spirits, so it is a bit suspect in that sense.
If she is physically seeing them through her two eyes, rather than in her mind's eye, then maybe they are just patterns on the wallpaper etc. that resemble faces.

I'm not really sure how I feel about that. I do believe in a spiritual world and believe there are both good and bad spirits, however, I have never seen a ghost or a spirit in person or in a real picture that I knew for fact hadn't been altered somehow. I am somewhat skeptical, but I guess she could have these spirits around her and in her home. Could they possibly be some of her ancestors? If I saw things like that in my home, I'd move immediately!

Maybe she is a Medium. Sometimes the spirit world tries to get out attention and we aren't listening. This may be their way of trying to get her to pay attention. If it scares her then all she has to do is ask them to leave, usually they will. If she's curious then perhaps she can find someone who can help her with her "gift" and learn how to interpret what is happening to her. By no means does this make you or her crazy, some things can't be explained by science.

Well, im not sure what i can say about the psychic phenomenon.
Like meds or what not.
However, i do believe in the advancement of the mind.
A lot of times, we see a lot of things.. often.
too often.
like.. you look at the time and it says "11:11" each time a day, by coinsidence...
or... images that "Coinsidentally" appear out of the mere irrelevant nowhere!
it's like signs.. sometimes, it is. haha... depending on how you take it.
but whew *shudders* that's crazy what you've stated.
I think things take life when humans give it to them.
for example, when you really devote a lot of time and thought to something, you see it everywhere. logically, because your mind seeks it, but illogically, you just can't explain.
Sometimes things are just way too creepy.
perhaps this is not the case here...
I'm not sure what to say about your friend here.
you've gotten some really lowsy answers about "illegal substances" and what not... but i wanted to provide something more filling.
It's definitely psychological... in an "advanced" manner, i believe. If im not mistaken.
its just the... no one seems to understand the unlimited possibilities of the mind.
it could be anything!
what do you personally believe?
we barely use 10 percent of our mind's capabilities..
why... Albert Einstein even only used 11!
The common person only uses about only 3 or 4.. around that area...
*sigh*
but to answer your question.... who knows.. what that could be..?

I won't be satisfied just by looking at the pics. I want to be there when the apparition begins. And then I'll tell you what I think.

First thing I would do is contact the local media and sell the pictures for money. Then smack yourself as you shouldn't have friends like this. Run away...far away.
