My sister just got a Jetta and it was running fine. It has about 100 K miles on it and it is in really good condition. However, after about a week of driving it she went to start it and nothing happened. They thought it might be the battery, but after a jump it still didn't work. The lights and everything work so it's not the battery. And when I say nothing happens when she puts the key in I do mean nothing, theres no sound or anything. What could be wrong?

for my area i might shop the yukon. gas is getting extra fee-effective and you in no way comprehend once you are going to choose area. they are additionally extra valuable in injuries (reckoning on the form of twist of destiny. lol). in case you opt to advance the mpg on the yukon, exchange the spark plugs and wires to E3. and turn over the air clear out and pass to ok&N type. There are additionally some different issues you're able to do. i does not do it because of the fact the Jetta has maximum of miles. And its no longer that old. try finding for some thing extra valuable.

VW has a recall going on now for the brake light switch.

If the brake light switch is broken, the car won't start.

Have her step on the brake, and check to see if her brake lights turn on. If they don't turn on, the brake light switch is broken and the car senses that the brake is not being stepped on and won't allow the car to start.

Call the dealership closest to you. It's a known issue with VW and they will repair it under the recall notice. I believe the recall also will cover towing costs to the dealership, but don't quote me on that one.
