Bottom and hidden. My mother likes hers on the left side and showing.

1 no from me
but
task bar

move your mouse to all corners of your screen
untill you see up and down arrows
left click and hold
then pull up down - over-etc
untill task bar is where you want it
right click and choose lock task bar

I have mine on the bottom life side.
