I don't know if anyone has ever used it, but I thought of it based off the name "Callisto". If you like Callystria, what might sound nice with it as a middle name?

Haha- ok, I get the picture on the "lystria" thing ! I guess it does sound a little funky! Though I like the suggestions of Callista or Callystra, dropping the "i".... What do you guys think about that and middle names for that?

Btw, the last name is "Chambers"....

(Yes I know posting last names normally wouldn't be wise, but even if ya find where I live there hundreds of us Chambers'! ) :)

Or Callissa- thanks, I also liked that idea! :)

Zicci - I asked for opinions and appreciate even the ones given that may not be what I had hoped to hear. Many that hated my ideas I actually gave a thumbs up because I value the honesty. However, rudeness is absolutely unnecessary - especially for someone suggesting that another is uneducated or "ILLITERATE", while bashing in way with so many misspellings and grammatical errors.... Somewhat hypocritical don't you think?

I like it in general. Personally I'd drop that "i" and go with Callystra as I think it sounds a bit smoother but that's just my own preference.

Like I said though, I like it. Then again I like unusual names.

Well, I've heard both Callisto and Callista, but never Callystria. Personally, I like the reference, but I find the last few letters of your version disturbing...it reminds me of Lystria (a church group in Wisconsin), Caligula (the mad emperor of Rome), and stria in the medical sense (stretch marks).

However, if you choose to use this as a name, I'd pair it with something simple and androgonously elegant like: Simone, Jeanine, Samantha, Ariane (like Mary Ann without the a), Marien, Jillian, Francesca, or Elyse.

Unusual alternatives to Callystria could be: Athena, Skye, Padme, Lakshmi, Kiera, Luna, Morrigan, Gwen, Artemis, Mina, Dahlia, Fern, or Ocean.

I think it has too many syllables. This kid is not going to be able to say it until she starts kindergarten at least. You said you based it off of Callisto, why not just use that name? I like the name Callisto. Either way you might end up calling her Callie for short, which is cute while she's young, and then she might grow into her name as she gets older.

Well im not going to be rude or mean like those other people but maybe the name Cally or Callie, or maybe even the name Crystal which is really nice! Also I know someone whose name is Cara which is lovely. A middle name for Callystria how about if its a girl Callystria Donna has a nice ring to it, if a boy Callystria Ryan. Hope this helps! **

Well, it looks like most people aren't too excited about the name. "Callisto" is a nice name to work off of, but it's hard to come up with something that doesn't sound like a medical condition.

How about "Callissa"?

It's shorter and simpler than Callystria, but retains the root of Callisto. Plus, she could shorten it to Calli or Lissa if she wants to later on.

For a boy or girl , i don't know but think of the poor child that is going to be called "callystria" .
If you insist on a middle name make sure its simple i syllable , like Jane or may . Otherwise its going to be a tongue twister. Also depends on surname.
I assume that you are pregnant, once you see your baby you will know if the name suits them or not.

being a greek mythology fan, i named my own daughter Cassandra Alethea...Callisto was the other first name i was considering for her..

Callystria is a simple yet unique name that one does not hear that often..i love it and if i were asked to choose a middle name to go with it it would be something that is strong sounding...

*smiles* if it were my child, i'd name her Callystria Hope or perhaps find another female mythology to modify as a middle name
