I am positive that cat food is higher in fat, so probably calories as well.
Remember that only cats should have cat food and dogs dog food.
Natural Balance cat food - 1 cup 553 calories
Natural Balance dog food - 1 cup 485 calories

Cat food, which is why dog's tend to get fat if they eat it regularly. Cats require a higher fat content than dogs.

Are you trying to put on weight ? pound for pound it would be cat food, I think.

I don't know but I doubt either one is appropriate for a diet.
