I think the San Antonio series proves that they would not be. San Anotnio set the pace of every game and frustrated Phoenix. They aren't good enough on defense to win alot of grind it out slow games.

Teams play the way that gives them the best chance to win. I don't think they would be as good if they slowed down. They don't have a post presense that commands a double team, which in the NBA is something you need if you want to play half court basketball. Amare is good, but not that good one on one in the post if his athleticism is neutralized. They also don't have anybody that can consistently beat their guy off the dribble and attack the rim. Nash can get by some people but teams know that most of the time he is looking to pass. The SUns also have no go to guy if the shot clock gets low. Teams that are good in the half court are still in the playoffs, save for the Cavs, I don't know why they are still in the playoffs. Their half court offense consists of giving the ball to LeBron and standing around.

Yes. Style does not matter as long as you have players and they do. I feel that they sometimes run too much during an entire game and during the playoffs it helps to have both a fast paced game but the half court game to slow other teams down. I just feel that they must learn to not try and outscore other teams but play hard nosed in your face defense. Scoring cant be taught. Defense can.

The suns are already a very good team...if they would have beat the spurs i think they would win the chap. one of the main reasons they lost the last game to the spurs was because they played fast pased...but...the suns are the #1 comeback team during the 4th qurt. but that last game they started out way to fast and they got tired during the 4th qurt.

No. Their players and system are not set up for the half-court game. Don't get me wrong - they would still be successful. But without a proven shut-down low post defensive player, they will continue to be also-rans.

they play at a tempo that suits their abilities. they are not a half-court team, so they would struggle if they played a primarily half-court game. just as a team like Utah or Detroit would struggle if they tried to consistently push the ball up the floor and try to create transition opportunities.
