I am 40 and yes I feel that. A few years ago I started teaching Religious Education to 3rd and 4th graders. I absolutely love it. I have a very good relationship with my own children who are 17, 15, &12. The Lord has been my foundation in raising my children. In this day and age our young people really need Him. There is a saying I use in my class every year. Preach the Gospel always, if necessary use words, St. Francis of Assisi. Good luck to you and follow your heart.

I have friends that are younger than me and sometimes they can really make some stupid mistakes but we all live and learn. They have come to me for advice on things. I feel like I've been alive for centuries but I've only been alive for a few decades and some. My experience has taught me well but in the same token I don't want to come off as a Mr. Know It All. I know that I'm not but who is? I just try to be a friend.

Definitely. I have quite a few younger contacts that e-mail me for advice.

Young people don't scare me per se, I do feel scared for them at times.

I really believe most of them are good kids, they just need a little direction and clarity.

Not really, because I feel I'd like someone to educate me, and I'm more less your age... But yes I know what you mean, it would be good if one could in some way impart them some perspective.

Oracle, I'm twice your age and it seems to me that they're getting less mature every year. They look like babies to me...dangerously big, self-involved babies with drivers' licenses. Yeah, hon, I'm scared, too.

I do know this though, we probably looked just as scary to our parents and grandparents. The fortunate thing about people is that they do eventually grow up and learn to their chagrin that their moms were right about nearly everything.
