I`m 10 weeks pregnant now and at my last doctors visti, they ran my blood for all std's including HIV.. I feel fine and I don`t think I have any type of STD but my sister in law was saying you never really know unless you take the test... she says that i wasn`t using a condom when I got pregnant so there`s always a possibility... that scared the **** out of me lol... Since i`m pregnant they would call me as soon as they found out right?? My appointment was on monday and I haven`t heard from em.. so maybe i`m in the clear????

i guess she said that because I was so sure I didn`t have anything.. She`s actually my brothers wife... and alot of times tries to put me down...She a little jealous that I`m pregnant....she thinks she can`t have kids.

OMG! Yes I was too. Like you said I felt fine too but theres always that uncertainty. Try not to dwell on it. With me I didn't find out until my next Appt if everything was in the clear (it was). If your really anxious you can call the dr's office and they will ease your mind! Good luck with the pregnancy and the baby! :)

I guess you know what STD means. And many people never know until they test. This the facts and we hear them on TV all the time!
I would think you OK if you have not heard from them, most Blood Tests are verified within a few days I guess.
I do not think it is right for your sis-in-law to try and scare you though. But, she is correct. But, may have said it better. But, maybe I not say it good either.
I am a guy and my Doctor usually have the results of my test the day I see him, regular blood work, but, STD is part of it. I test that morning and see the Doctor that afternoon and we discuss the results. Usually Cholesterol.
You could call them and express your concern and they tell you everything is OK! Just ask if your results are back as you worry about these things. They understand.

i did a test for stds and hiv on monday too and they said DR will have the result in 4 days so it has been four freakin days. I've been so nervous and paranoid. Although I don't have any signs of those stuff either so im hoping im in the clear too. Everytime the phone rings I freak out hoping that it's not the doctor. Usually people say std/hiv won't show up in the test until 6 months of being infected. Just really nervous. Goodluck to your result.

Look don't worry. this test r giving routinely. i don't know the circumstance of ur pregnancy but u r probably still with the baby's father or were with him a while b4 u got preggers. Even if not. if u have any std it is better to know now so u could be monitored and not pass it on to baby. but I'm sure they would have called u back early if anything serious had shown up. Either way worrying wont help. if u have something then u will have it with worry or not. u will be fine. after all everyone who is pregnant needs to have unprotected sex lol. good luck with ur pregnancy

Depends on the dr how soon they'll call you, they are suppose to call you within 2 weeks, but once my dr left me thinking I was okay and ended up calling me 2 months later!!!!!!!!! I had an "abnormal papsmear" and I may have pre-cervical cancer- but they can get rid of it, I'm just pissed they told me 2 months later, they even called me the next day on my other results but 2 months later on the one thats bad. Make sure you tell them u MUST know soon....it pissed me off big time they waited so long, now I have to wait longer for surgery to be done to remove pre-cancer cervical cell from my cervix. I'm sure ur fine, GOODLUCK..............make sure they give it to u sooner than 2 damn months tho!

When I had my blood tests done, one of the tests came back positive. They called me right away even though there is no real threat to my baby until birth. I'm just assuming but... you don't have much to worry about if you have a faithful hubby =-)

No news is good news! They'll only call if something is abnormal. They would have called by now.

And shame on your sister in law for even implying otherwise! She must not think highly of you or her brother. Tsk tsk!

yes they would call you immediatly if you had one cuz it could be passed to the baby and cuz infection in the baby they would have definetly called you by now and std's are very easy to catch and you not even know it symptoms are hard to pick up on right away and with some disease you may not know you have them @ all...congrads on your baby and having no std's you will be fine! good luck!

if there was anything to be worried about then they would have called.
if you are worried then call and ask. tell them that you had some bloodwork done and you haven't heard anything and you just want to be sure that everything is o,k.
