ALL news is biased, I choose to watch FOX because I'm a conservative...just as all the liberals choose to watch the other news channels because is based on what they want to hear. It's not about anyone getting away with anything, or anyone "swallowing the rubbish they're putting out" in America we have free speech so we're permitted to say what we chose, some people like to hear what Bill O'Reilly has to say, and others don't.

It's important to recognize the difference between news COMMENTARY and news REPORTING. Fox has plenty of both.
I've watched live news conferences presented on Fox -- LIVE, that means unedited, real-time Q&A. Then later I've heard the reports on CBS or ABC and wondered if they had witnessed the same news conferences that I did because their spin was so glaring.
O'Reilly has never claimed that his Factor reports the news. He identifies himself as a News Commentator.
Detractors, of course, hear only what they want to hear. Like me and the Clinton News Network (CNN) -- I stopped taking seriously anything they had to say when I learned that they set a policy to disallow the use of the word "terrorist" in their reports.
We're probably all throwing the baby out with the bath water. But I believe I stand a better chance of getting the truth from Fox than any other station.

O'reilly is well known as a right wing pundit. Most other stations have their left wing pundits. This is why Fox news is one of the most watched news channels. It's viewers base is focused on one channel while the left has several channels to watch diluting the viewership numbers. Exactly what do you think they are getting away with? What did they say that was racist? I highly doubt that they said anything that could be construed as improper as the left would have jumped all over it.

Most of the channels have these programs, not just FOX news. They aren't really news shows. These shows are for entertainment. Have you ever checked out Glenn Beck on CNN primetime channel? His view points are super conservative and rub a lot of people the wrong way. BUT THATS THE POINT!

The United States Constitution has the Bill of Rights, which includes the First Amendment which states that the people have the right to free speech. I know that is troubling to the leftists when someone can broadcast opinions that are contrary to their socialist agenda.
There are plenty of people who support the ideas of personal liberty, limited government, free markets and capitalism. People who support the ideas of freedom are frequently called racists, hatemongers, stupid, ignorant, etc. This is because socialism has proven itself to be a failure, but socialists are too entrenched in their beliefs to be pursuaded with facts and logic so they resort to personal attacks.

Watch 'Democracy Now' on PBS and then listen to 'Almost All Things Considered' on "Public" Radio and you will understand the format that Fox News uses.
Warning! Ingest some sort of stimulant before watching 'Democracy Now'. The broadcaster could put an ADHD person to sleep!

Sadly they get away with it because a sizeable proportion of the US population feel it is 'in tune' with how they view the world. I find it amusing and would form ideal material for a Media studies student.

If you like the spin that the others (ABC, CBS, NBC, PMSNBC, CNN etc.) put on news .. fine watch them and live in dreamland. I'll watch FOX and get both sides of the story and make my own informed decision, thanks.

Nobody can answer your question if you don't give specific samples of just what you're yapping about.
