Find an activity that exposes you to other available adults: scuba diving, flying, travelling, clubbing, sports(golf, darts, tennis, racquetball, etc.) and try to have some current events information for the recent past. People only find you interesting when you actually have avalid opinion on things that matter to them, or you can give them advice that sounds reasonably realistic. Nobody likes a dud, dude...

Take a cooking class so you can impress your future lady.
Go volunteer for the homeless (you'll both feel good).
Join a book club at one of the major bookstores (there are some great singles there already).
Travel (expand your horizons!! If you don't meet anyone you'll at least have something to tell about).

I would try to join some clubs or take a class I would enjoy and might learn something like cooking, crafts, painting also
sports if your into that bowling, tennis, golf. You need to get out there and you will meet people and have your calender filled. Good Luck

When I was single I would take time off work to do everything around my house that I needed to do. Plant gardens, clean, rearrange furniture, visit friends, and take some time to just relax and enjoy your peace and quiet.

Take a road trip, go on a few dates, sleep in, do whatever you like ! unfortunately most will more than likely sit on the computer all day and become an expert on answers in under a fortnight ! (thats 2 weeks for all the Americans !).

After dealing with people on the job, I look forward to my time alone and am grateful for time away from people that act like lunatics.
