I like being out with nature and not hearing the sounds of the city. Waking up in the morning and smelling the dew on the grass and walking down to the water and feeling the breeze. I want to go now :(

Hi. The last time I was camping was the spring of 1981, or the fall of 1980. (Boy, I'm getting REALLY ooold.) Anyhoo, we went up into the McDowell Mountains, and I was amazed! It was almost like being in Colorado, where I grew up. I had no idea anywhere here in Arizona was like that. I was raised in the quintisential Camping family! I used to think there wasn't a National Park, Forrest, or campsite this side of the Mason/Dixon Line we hadn't been in! By the time I was out of high school, I was soooo tired of it! But so many years later, it was a lot of fun! (I love being outdoors, I just prefer a hot shower and a resturant to a tent & sleeping bag for the night!) Looking back, we saw (up close) some of the most amazing country the is to be found anywhere. Thanks! This was fun to think about.

Camping is great. I went down to Tasmania (Australia) in Dec/Jan. Spent 3 days camping at a music festival (falls) then went up the east coast for a week in a crappy old van that managed to keep going even though it felt like it was going to breakdown at any moment. Camped in some really awesome and isolated spots where you really felt you were along way from civilisation. Highly recommend it, good times, good people, good beer!
