That is because she is the meanest mom in the world. We all belong to a secret society that states we must wig out completely over the littlest things.
Now that you know the real reason, you can figure it out for yourself why she freaks when you don't pick up your shoes.
Just kidding...relax. Maybe it is because she expects more from you. Maybe she knows you are capable of more. Perhaps you are a bit lazy....
In every family, there is a brain, a bum and a beauty. Unfortunately, you can't be all three unless you are an only child. Clearly your role is at least the brainy one, possibly the beauty as well, but that is a different subject. So, that leaves your brother to be the bum.
Accept it, and go on. You will thank her later for pushing you to do better.

Your mom is concerned about your welfare. Forget how she handles others and pay attention to her displeasure. Knowledge is power. If you expect to make it big in the world, you need all the knowledge you can get. Making good grades is very important. It means you regard yourself highly and mean to make a success of your life. You have a long life ahead of you, do the best you can. As for mom, try harder. You may need outside help. Sylvan Learning Center is an ideal place for this, but it isn't cheap. The pay back comes in later life when you go out into the real world. Hang in there, you will never be sorry.

If it's not normal, I think it's good that your mother freaks out at you getting a C because she doesn't want you to be an underachiever. Some parents don't do this enough, unfortunately. On the other hand, it is not fair to your brother that she doesn't push him in the same way that she pushes you. She should expect better of both children, not just one. Study hard and do better- you have no idea how important it is to your future.

I've been in your situation before. My brother used to get E's and lower grades and I used to get the higher grades but as soon as I got a slightly lower grade she would always look dissapointed in me. Its only because she cares about you and wants you to do well, so in a way even though it might not seem it, her freaking out is a good thing. She wants whats best for you and obviously knows you can do better, so just reassure her that you're trying your best.

Maybe she's a high expectation to you & your mom believes you so much & u didn't notice it.
About your brother, I think she knows to understand your brother & she's ok with that grades.
Be thankful that your mom motivate you to study hard coz it's your own good & in the long run u will discover the gift in you if u do what your mother want you to do.
Good luck girl!

Yes, it is normal.
At least you have a brother.
My PARENTS are SO crazy about grades, lots of pressure, and makes me study until 10 EVERY night on school days, and until 11 on weekends. They expect me to get straight A's in my first year of 7th grade. And it's really hard because compared to the other international schools, to get A's, you're grade has to be 93% and above, but in other schools...it's like...90% and above. SOOOO unfair. So it's stressing for me, too. It's not only you, don't worry.

Well you mother just want you to the best that you can. If she see that you are not trying to do what she know that you are capable of then she should not accept that from you. So I would say don't worry about what your brother is doing just do the very best that you can do and that will probably make your mother happy with you.

There is no such thing as an E. But you could talk to your mom and tell her it's not fair how she treats you. Your mom is probably just sad that your not doing good in school, so mabye you could try a little harder.
