The majority of handguns used for crime in Canada were "PURCHASED" legally in the US...they kill us and of course the rest is a given. It is a question. And did we teach terrorists to fly planes?..NO. All guns in Canada are registered; even Grandpa's musket. When the forefathers of the US gave the right to possess arms, were they really thinking of today's weapons?...so that argument is taken...what else?...oh I am a "liberal Canadian fool"...now that is covered...oh, the Muslim I ate breakfast beside, the breakfast served by an immigrant who we cherish, who has child who will become a doctor to treat all of us, despite economic level,.. who are wounded by American weapons that can be raffled in Virginia for "protection" from a violent society, he is welcome too. This is not a "rant" so pass up on that one. It is backup to the question. And for the guy with the glasses, does anyone else on here think they should be "rose" coloured?....question people...

Right on!

P.S. Handguns are NOT compareable to ye old muskets.

Try comparing a semi-automatic 9 mm pistol with 15 rounds in it, able to fire of a clip in under half a minute with "ye old flintlock pistol", which took half a minute to load ONE shot, and couldn't be trusted to hit a barn door at anything over 20 yards.

They also gave us freedom of speech and press. In 1800 it took weeks for a letter to get from one place to the other. Arguing technology improvements as reasons for limiting rights has to be inclusive of all the freedoms, not just a select one or two that might not be your favorite.

And of all the firearms available now, handguns are probably the most similar to what was available back in the day, so that argument doesn't really hold water. You might have an argument for belt-fed machine guns, grenade launchers and such, but since those are well-controlled, that kind of goes out the window too.

It is those people who have the guns who are doing the killing.

You should also know that enforcing the gun laws helps writing more laws doesn't stop people.

VT was in "gun free" zone it didn't work.

It also been proven that when concealed gun laws are pass crime rate drops.

So don't blame us for your problem of lack of enforcement.
