it all depends on whom you ask...
ask a liberal or democrat, the war is lost...
ask an american, the war is winnable...
ask a general, the war is going much better now...
ask a soldier, they want to win...

Kuli – There is no such thing as a better, worse, or in the same condition of war. All war is bad. This war is necessary and this war will be long and protracted. To loss this war means an end to security in the world and eventually the spread of freedom and democracy. The last best hope!
This war is different. America and the world have a different kind of enemy. That enemy is Islamic Terrorists/Extremists. They don’t fight us face to face unless they are trapped. They snip at our American soldiers and sailors that place their lives on the line so that you can sit at your computer and ask these types of questions.
A more optimistic question to ask would be, “How can I help win this War?” The answer is anything that your age and physical condition will allow.
The down side is that if this war is lost and Islamic Extremism spreads throughout the world your security and freedom, as well as all freedom loving people, will slowly erode.
These are the facts.

Worse! We step up the war, they retaliate. They can do that for the next 1,000 years! We can't win in Iraq! When are you going to learn that! Even the commanding general in Iraq says that. Guess you think he is a liar!
3,717 body bags returned home, 49 in the past 10 days!
30,000 Iraqi Security Forces and civilian deaths since Jan 06!
It may be getting better for those on corporate welfare as they just got another blank check for 100 BILLION, but for families of the deceased, and those unfortunate enough to end up in a Bush budget slashed military hospital with no limbs. it is FAR WORSE!!

Worse without a doubt. I've talked with several soldiers back on leave and even they concede that the 'surge' has also accelerated the insurgent response. I know it hasn't been in the news yet but there is also another surge planned for late this summer. By then we'll have almost 200,000 troops in Iraq. This administration says they know a military solution is not viable in Iraq but yet they still are pouring in troops and we know the more US troops there the more the US casualties will mount.

Same condition. After the liberal media and the liberal
congressmen spent so much time ENCOURAGING the
terrorists, and whining about everything the administration
was doing to win the war and stop terrorism.
Loose lips sink ships.

Better, if you listen to any of the soldiers on the ground who actually have a clue as to what is going on. Or you could get your information from CNN and be spoon-fed some more lies and distortion. Your choice.

The surge is working, that's why there is less media coverage.

If you want the 'facts' you have to dig for them yourself. There are plenty of sites right here on line. We certainly cannot depend on the US press to tell us EVERYTHING.
But in all seriousness, it APPEARS as though things are worse.

Is the increasing amount of death in iraq telling you that something is getting any better? Explain me 'cause I don't see how.

Its not changed for the better. It can grind on for years at great cost but I don't see a potential for any kind of improvement..
