does it mean i am going to ask more than one question? or not neccessarily?

and what is the difference when you say answer THE question i am going to ask

The only difference is that "the question I am going to ask," is better worded than,"answer a question that I am going to ask" Both relate to asking only one question. A better way to say the same thing is" Let me ask you a question."
