Mature male goldfish will have tubercles appearing on their gill plate. This looks like white spot but the appears on the gill plates and pectoral fins.

On males their anal vent tends to concave (sunk in) and on the female their anal vent or breeding tube during mating season is convex (sticking out).

Well, it is really hard to identify a goldfish's gender. I would suggest you buy 8 to 10 goldfish to have at least one male or one female.

if their tails are longer and bigger,that's male.(guess only)
