OK, if there are no black plants - are there any plants with a dark foliage giving the appeaance of being black , with white flowers?

There is a variety of oxalis that has very dark leaves and white flowers. That's the only thing with the combination you're looking for that I know of. For just black foliage, there is a type of taro that has black leaves (they might call it balck elephant ear at the nursery) and some nearly black varieties of coleus.

There are no black plants, although there are some black fungi.
