hey everyone, i recently had a miscarriage april 24th, anyway i still havent got my period (doc said it should be on time as there was not any complications and it was fully expelled, my problem is that my cat only likes me when im pregnant, so last night i went to bed and he slept with me all night even though i kicked him off repeatedly, then when i got home after work tonight he jumped straight up on my lap (unusual because i normally have to force him to come near me) so i got curious and tested to see if i was pregnant, the digital test said not pregnant i pulled the test bit out of the digital holder and there was a light line, but just a stick test there was a positive (faint), now for the hard part i tested to see if i was ovulating at the same time (dont ask me why) and i apparently am... and when i wiped slightest amount of blood???? i have no idea what to believe lol any advice (except go to the doc's)

sometimes when your lh (ovulation hormone) level maxes out and you are close to af (aunt flow) it will register as positive in some pg test, it has to do with your hormone levels and yours could be very high sort of tricking your body. the slight blood could be from your ovary releasing an egg, sometimes in some women that happens, now is the time to try if your going to. good luck and sorry for your loss.

Without having all the information it's hard to say like. Have you calculated your ovulation date and figured out if you had sex around that time? It could be implantation bleed if you did have sex around time. If it is, then you wouldn't get a + HPT so soon. You would need to wait until the egg implants more and after a couple of days test again.

As far as the OPK, I read this on www.peeonastick.com

"Ovulation predictor tests (known as OPK's because they are normally sold in a set of tests known as a "kit," thus the K) will show a positive result when a woman is pregnant, as well as when she's ovulating."

It could go either way. Also, have his sperm count tested. It's not always the woman with the problem :-)

Good Luck and Baby Dust

I thought this might help:

The digital test stick sucks up urine like a "regular" HPT. The test has a control line like every other HPT, to indicate the test worked properly. Then there is a "results zone" where a second line may or may not appear. Here's the difference: the second line may appear even if you are not pregnant, because the antibodies in the "results zone" are NOT testing ONLY for pregnancy hormone. Drumroll please. The "results zone" detects not only hCG (pregnancy hormone) . . . but also LH (luteinizing hormone.) LH is found in women's bodies almost all the time in some quantitity. So, depending upon where you are in your cycle, how much LH your body produces normally (which can be thrown off by conditions like PCOS), you may see a second line even when there is no hCG ("Not Pregnant.")

well it is possible that you are pregnant and too early to see. I got pregnant right after my first miscarriage. Or you could also be ovulating. I'd say give it another week or two and test again if your period hasn't shown yet. By that time a pregnancy should show up and if it doesn't then call the dr and let them know that your period hasn't shown up.

Have you had your blood draws to see what your hcg is doing? I just had a m/c on May 2, and it took to just last week for my levels to go down completely. If yours are not, that would explain the positive preg test. I know I am still having little bits of blood still and have not gotten my period either.. Sounds like we were just about a week apart on this... God bless you dear, and I really wish we could follow up on some of these questions to see what finally happened! hmph!

apparently this is just the aftermath of the miscarriage you may not be pregnant and you can also be pregnant but just watch out for the flow this month and if there is none why don't you try the pregnancy test again and you may be lucky.
