1. Immigration: I would have open immagration and emigration to allow the people the freedom to live where ever they choose to live.
2. Taxes: I would have a flat-tax with no deductions on income personal and corporate for Federal and State government, sales taxes for county and city. Property taxes would be abolished.
3. Healthcare: The system we have now, for better or worse, IS socialized medicine. Expand on it and break the Insurance Industry hold on price and availability.
4. The War on Terror (not just Iraq): End it! Here is a four point plan that would work:
a) Quietly tell the Isreali and the Arab leaders that the United States will no longer support the Isrealis militarily and will publically call for the Isreallis to widraw from the West Bank/Gaza Strip and with the Golan Hights to be occupied by UN Peace Keeping Troups in perpetuity and for Jesruslem to be declared an 'Open City'.
b) Confirm what the world knows but that noone admits: The Isrealis have nukes and the US will NOT pervent them from using them, even if we could! Give peace a chance or die!
c) Directly, pointedly and publically tell the Arabs/Muslims to 'Clean their House' and that we will help them if they ask, but that 'Radical Islam' is THEIR problem and they'd better fix it.
d) Provide the Iraqi and Afgan governments with all the AIR support the want or need but pull out our ground forces except those necessary to DEFEND the air bases. Make it their job to fix their country!
5) Education: Class sizes, teacher pay, money, vouchers and the like are buzz issues and talking points to keep the masses entertained!
Class size: A typical class size in Japan is 50+ students per teacher. Perhaps WE need shock collers!
Teacher pay: Percapita income in my county is $18,500.00 per year and teachers are STARTING at $26,000.00 per year. Those who can do teach, those who can't teach write bad books: teachers are payed enough!
Money: Non-teaching administrators are being paied in the high 5 figures in my county and while we have kids who can't read, do basic math or locate South Carolina on a f-ing map the school district can pay for a new football stadium? They have enough money!
Vouchers: Yes, give ME MY money back!
