I'm assuming you are old enough to go to school or have been through school as you can read and write.
What do you remember from school? A school has people from the same geographical area and most of the people have common beliefs and foundations in the community. Despite all the similarities, people don't get along in school. The jocks beat up the nerds, the druggies are outcasts and do their own thing, and the nerds sit quietly, planning their rise to power.
The people in school may not like eachother, but their coexistance tends to be peaceful as they have common goals (make it through the school day and graduate) and disrupting the fragile peace tends to have consequences for everyone. However, fights still break out and battles are fought in school.
Now think of this on a grand scale. A school is a closed environment, just like the earth is. Except, now instead of just calling each other names, giving others the cold shoulder, and isolating themselves, the people (leaders of nations) have money, power, and armies.
Just like in school, most don't want to disrupt the fragile balance as it creates problems for many (look at Desert Storm....when Iraq invaded Kuwait, it wasn't limited to those two countries. By the time everything was said and done, probably 1/3 of the countries on earth were involved in one form or another, whether it was providing troops or simply providing logistical support). However, eventually you get someone who doesn't care. The person wants power, wants money, or is just psychotic. They will fight to the death for their ideals because they are right and the rest of the world is wrong.
The variety we see in human nature makes a peaceful existance impossible. You see it in a small environment like a school. The world is the same thing, just bigger, with more nut jobs who may have a ton of money and a private army..

Peace is hard to come by because because some countries are ruled by dictators; you can call them kings, mullahs, whatever. Kings (dictators) by nature are power hungry, ruthless people who are always trying to get more and more power.
They try to get more power by starting wars to take over other countries. Usually, wars are not started by democracies because they are ruled by the people and it's the people who have to fight the wars.
The USA did not start the war with Iraq. Saddam Hussein started the war years ago when he invaded Kuwait, an ally of the USA. The USA and other countries went to help Kuwait and there was never a peace treaty signed. After Iraq was pushed out of Kuwait a "cease fire" was negotiated but Saddam kept violating the cease fire.

It is not. There is peace between most nations. The only people in the world today that threaten peace and are intent on war are the Arab/Persian Muslims.

Because not everyone in the world wants peace. It would be nice if they did but they don't. You can just blame it all on America if you want, but we Americans clawed our way out of tyranny (the major cause of un-peace) 200 years ago, and the world was a pretty nasty place back then too.

Cause the United States of America want keep their hands out of other Countries business. Until "we the people" put the name "Washington" back in D. C. nothing is gonna change.
-------
Washington had been reelected unanimously in 1792. His decision not to seek a third term established a tradition that is now embedded in the 22d Amendment of the Constitution. In his Farewell Address of Sept. 17, 1796, he drew on the results of his varied experience, offering a guide for both present and future. He urged his compatriots to cherish the Union, support the public credit, be alert to the "insidious wiles of foreign influence," respect the Constitution and the nation's laws, abide by the results of elections, and eschew political parties of a sectional cast. Asserting that the United States and Europe had different interests, he declared that it "is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world," trusting to temporary alliances for emergencies. He also warned against indulging in either habitual favoritism or habitual hostility toward particular nations, lest such attitudes should provoke or involve the country in needless wars.

Because we don't stick to the tenets of our various religions, all of which teach peace. It may not seem like it when extremists in all faiths have their own political agendas. Christians, for a start, need to spend more time on their knees.

Human nature. Of course, this is not helped by a religion that teaches its followers to kill in the name of God.
