At stumps on Day 1, India were 326 runs for no loss.
Wasim Jaffar and Dinesh Karthik have retired hurt. Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar were batting at the close of play.
Dinesh Karthik made 82 runs before retiring hurt with cramp in his left arm in the last over before tea. Jaffer also retired hurt with leg cramps midway through the final session of play.
