It's not hard to work out: free heath care, dental, houseing, DHS money each week....no wonder they want to come and live here. What is more difficult to work out is why we let then come.

MOST of the Colonies? I suggest you check your facts again. Only a few of the colonies of the British Empire actually went to full armed Rebeliion.
One of the big reasons the Empire broke up in the 50's was a condition of the releif and treaties the goverment had signed to obtain American Aid. Plus the costs of Running the Empire outweighed the gains it brought in. Finally as with all the European Powers at that time the Empires where all breaking up and more and more self governing bodies where presented.
However due to the rush to off load a number of countries, I believe we destabilised many areas which would have gained a better independance if the goverment had been willing to slow the process down.

May I suggest that before you start making wild and racist comments you take some time to actually read some history. The majority of British colonies did not 'fight' for independance. The older 'Dominions' - Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa were all given self governing status without a shot being fired.. The major fights took place in India - bu that was mainly peaceful protest under Ghandi and Kenya (Mau-Mau). There was fighting in Burma after WW2, but that was more anti-Communist than a strictly fight for independance. Many of the African colonies were offerd independance after Harold MacMillan's 'wind of change' speech. Not a shot was fired in Malta (except at the Germans and Italians during the war). There was fighting in Cyprus, but that was more of a battle between the Turkish and Greek inhabitants than aginst the British (Although there was the EOKA movement led by Archbishop Makarios, but he wanted union with Greece). I cannot think of one Caribbean colony that had to fight to be given independance.

I couldn't help but laugh. Thanks for that.
Actually, my South African ancestor met a British ancestor which resulted in a marriage and numerous children. Said British ancestor abandoned his wife, by the way.
The British have emigrated throughout the world and have often intermarried. It's hard to be racist when you have the blood of all types in your veins.

South Africa was doing very happily until the British came and decided they were in a good position to protect the trade route, in the French wars. In fact, it is my opinion, that the British invasion was the cause of all the problems in South Africa. They forced the Dutch up into the Black areas and into conflict with the Zulus, Xhosa's, etc. And of course, with the discovery of gold and diamonds, the British decided to take over the whole lot. They forced the Dutch into submission by putting the women and children into concentration camps, leading to the death of 26 000 women and children.
So you want to know why I don't go back? Well, I am largely English/Scottish And carry the shame of the British atrocities in my blood. I am married to an Englishman.
So you have no right to tell me where to live.

Not all colonies fought for independence. Some had independence thrust on them.
The British tried to impose their form of democracy on the colonies before granting independence.
Having grouped together various peoples of different religions, ethnic groups, tribes and languages and then declared the area to be one country (a good example is Nigeria), these non-countries were left to their fate.
The resulting mayhem has led to some people being disadvantaged, discriminated against and persecuted. So they seek refuge in the UK, which they believe to be a caring, functioning democratic country.

The reason they fought for independance is that the British should not have been there in the first place.
If another country occupied England would we not want them out a.s.a.p?
Take Ireland, King William IIII of Orange invaded Ireland simply because they, the Irish, were Catholics and Bill reckoned they should be Protestants!
How bigotted can you get?
The only reason Northern Ireland voted to stay with Britain in later years was because they could get unemployment pay and free hospital treatment. To do that they became Protestants, same as King Bill 4th.

Philip...i don't think your version of events is one little bit true..why are we not tyrannical now...why did we build those countries up..build so many Victorian houses that these places still love and look after.it may not in this day and age be right to colonise an others land but it was back then and for hundreds and hundreds of years...i,m sure there are many true or not so true stories of what we British did abroad but i know one thing for sure...we are decent people ..apart from the yobs that get us a bad name these days..most that don't want our queen to rule them have opted out blood free and many still love Britain like Canada which is huge..Australia to a degree.New Zealand ...many small islands around the world ..even the united kingdom is changing but i doubt any want it to fall apart totally....we could not hold onto America because of the distance and were pushed out with bloody noses ..fair enough though...we left our mark there and so many places are named after British villages.towns and cities......ie Lincoln Nebraska..Boston mass...bla bla bla etc ....

In Africa the simple savages were persuaded by opportunist would-be dictators that they would be better off under black rule. Not having the option of returning to the benevolent colonial rule of the British Empire, the dark races attempt to emulate the good old days by coming to England.
The time has obviously arrived when extreme measure must be taken to preserve the indigenous British culture and remove the economic burden of unproductive foreigners.

When British people migrated to Asia and Africa they were prosperous .They plundered colonies and made them poor. The colonies were made mere suppliers of raw materials and market for finished goods. If there was no colonisation there would not have been any poor country now. There would not have been migration also. Then UK encouraged migration and it was good. Now the trend has been reversed and you are against migration.Un understandable.Migration is nothing new,it started from the day mankind originated. The origin of man was in Africa and he migrated to various part of the world and made various races, migration was based on better living condition always.
If people had not migrated from UK to America there would not have been present USA.

In most cases indepence was a good thing for both us and them when it occured. We saved alot of money not having to pay to defend out of the way places.

The reason they all want to come back is because of our striving economy and strong pound they all want to come work in pounds which they can then change back into their own currency at a fantastic exchange rate (some can also claim back any tax they pay!!!!)
