someone sent one parcel for me on Friday by priority mail of USPS. It is said the priority mail might take 1 to 3 days for shipping. Since this parcel is much important to me, I hope to get it as soon as possible, at least before this Sunday. I want to know whether the priority mail also ship on Saturday or Sunday. Because if it only takes two days for shipping, I can get it on Friday. However, does it mean I have to wait till Monday if it takes three days and doesn't ship on Saturday? Moreover, could anyone tell me the ship price for the priority mail each pound per mile? Thank you so much.

There are no guarantees on the delivery time of priority mail. You can send priority mail on Saturday but not on Sunday. The price of priority mail varies by destination. You may get some information if you call your local post office.

Priority mail (and all mail) moves 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year. Priority mail is delivered with first class mail six days a week. Express mail is delivered on Sunday in some locations.

You can mail 24/7 at some contract stations and using an APC (Automated Postal Center).

If your office has the Priority package on Saturday they have to at least attempt to deliver the package to you on Saturday. I say attempt because if it has to be signed for or if it is too large for the mail box and there is no safe place to leave it they will leave a note (if you're not home) letting you know that it is available for pick up.

Prices vary based on where you're mailing it to and how much it weighs. The Postal Service offers a flat rate envelope and two flat rate boxes. For actual rates go to www.usps.com and click on "calculate postage" on the top row of links.

Two day priority ships six days a week, except for Sunday. It is very affordable (usually only about $4 for a letter and $2 per pound on boxed packages). If you are shipping within the United States, it will only take two to three full business days to arrive. However, they will tell you 3 to 5 to give themselves a cushion. I have always used Priority and have never had a problem or late shipment.

Normally, the USPS does not make deliveries on Sundays. I believe the only time they'd do that is if you have an overnight delivery package.

Check out their website for rates & whatnot. It's actually laid out pretty logically so you should be able to find what you need.

Hope your delivery comes soon! : )
