this is an idea I've been toying with for a real long time, (I once had an invite to Lotus to move it forward!) nothing has been done with this technology as far as i'm aware and would like to see if I can actually get it developed before it's too late. could anybody please tell me where I could take this concept and have it tested for viability ?

Your first step should be to have it patented. If you don't, when you show off your new invention, somebody can go get it patented and steal your idea away.
However, it's expensive to do..
After you do get it patented, make a presentation and pitch it to any manufacturer you can to get the chance to show off your idea. If they like it, they may buy the idea off of you to produce the invention.

Definately Go to ricardo's in Sussex.
There used to be Weslakes in Rye but i dont know if they still exsist, they did development work for BMC back in the fifties and sixties.
Failing that, a really good machine shop could turn your ideas into reality.My local machinist has done a terrific job for me at not too greater cost and superb quality.

if your head design is what you think it could be, get it patented, then go to a machine shop, and have them physically make it. put it on your machine, then see if you like what came of your experiment. at that point you can decide what you want to call it, or if it even works the way you intended. again, you are looking at a lot of money to get anything patented, and a lot of money for the machine shop to make the part(s) needed to get it operational.

After getting it protected by patent as suggested. try the universities like manchester or belfast. They may be able to help either with their facilities or point you in the right direction.

You could try approaching other engine development companies, such as Ricardo, Mahle, AVL.
