They are not torn nor have they been heat distorted, just squashed. They are pillar candle molds so it is important that they are perfectly shaped. Please any sensible and TRIED AND TESTED suggestions pleases.
Thanks,
Amoeba

Rubber or latex molds come at moderate prices and are preferred for flexibility and ease of use. But they have a limited lifespan. The problem with rubber molds is that they deteriorate with time. Repeated use of rubber molds is not possible. Their life span is not as long as another type of mold. If you don't find success in restoring your current molds to their original shape, you can purchase metal pillar candle molds fairly reasonably:

I hope this helps!

Most of the flexible molds will not reshape when poured. I pour mine, then use packing tape across the top to pull the sides straight. Once it cools, I can take the tape off & do my repour.

Also, when you store the silicone type pillar molds, pack the cavity with paper towels and that will keep their shape when not in use.

Hello Amoeba,

If they're just squashed, they should return to their original shape when you fill them.

As long as they aren't heat damaged or stretched in any way, they should spring back into shape.

It sounds as though you have several, so you could try one using sand support to make sure before you fill them all.

In case you don't get any answers tried and tested, maybe you could see if they snap back into shape when you fill them? Unless they were distorted because beeswax or some other unsuitable was was used in them, in which case the distortion is permanent.
